Immigrant Professionals in Minnesota: Bridging Foreign Credentials into Crownshire Study without Discounting the Award

Abstract

Minnesota’s workforce includes professionals whose first degrees were earned abroad. This study reviews Crownshire admissions and RPL files (anonymised) for engineers, nurses moving into management, and teachers. A qualifying assessment plus limited credit protected the award better than informal ‘life experience’ waivers. Community partners in the Twin Cities wanted speed and dignity, not a lower degree. Crownshire University should publish this standard in plain English. A York university that serves immigrant professionals is doing American higher education’s actual work.
