Crownshire University Industry Advisory Board Will Stress-Test Programs Against the Jobs Global Students Already Do

Crownshire University has appointed an industry advisory board to sit beside academic governance. Members are practitioners who hire, regulate or found organizations that working professionals who want a UK degree they can complete online, with an optional pathway at the York campus already work in. They do not set grades. They do challenge curriculum drift.

Each year the board will read module outlines, sample assessments and anonymised student feedback. They will tell the university where a skill is missing, outdated, or taught as folklore.

Camila Souza, a brand director in Recife, will give evidence this year on what early-career analysts still cannot do after a generic degree. "Crownshire asked for discomfort. I will bring it."

Academic freedom remains with the Senate equivalent of Crownshire University. The board cannot demand that a module become a vendor training course. It can demand that graduates know how to learn a vendor tool.

"We serve global students, not a single employer's HR department," said the Provost. "But we will not hide from people who employ those students."

Minutes of non-confidential items will be summarised on the website. global students may suggest agenda items through the Union.
